Labour Party (UK) Labour Member of Parliament MP for the
Denton and Reddish (UK Parliament constituency) Denton and Reddish constituency. He was elected at the
UK general election, 2005 2005 general election, replacing the retiring
Andrew Bennett.
He is married with three children and lives locally in
Denton, where he grew up. He was educated at Egerton Park High School, Tameside College,
North East Wales Institute of Higher Education,
University of Salford and has served as a Labour Councillor on Tameside MBC since 1996, representing the Denton West Ward. He is also a member of the
Amicus Trade Union, the
Co-operative Party and the
Christian Socialist Movement.
Despite having only been elected six months earlier, on 10th November 2005, Andrew Gwynne was promoted to become a PPS (Parliamentary Private Secretary) to the Right Honourable The
Patricia Scotland, Baroness Scotland of Asthal Baroness Scotland of Asthal QC, Minister of State at the
Home Office.
