Prussia''', (German: ''Georg Friedrich Prinz von Preußen'') (born
June 10 1976) is the current head of the royal house of
Prussia and the imperial house of
Germany. He succeeded his grandfather,
Louis Ferdinand, Prince of Prussia Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia to these positions in
1994.
Georg Friedrich is only son of the late
Louis Ferdinand Oskar von Preußen Prince Louis Ferdinand II of Prussia and Countess Donata of Castell-Rüdenhausen (born a member of a
German Mediatisation mediatized princely family, she is now Duchess Donata of
House of Oldenburg Oldenburg by a second marriage). He attended grammar schools in Bremen and Oldenburg and completed his education at Glenalmond College near Aberdeen, Scotland, where he passed his A-levels.
As a result of the 1442 Treaty of Wittstock between the House of
Mecklenburg and the House of
Hohenzollern, Georg Friedrich is considered by some people to be the heir of the grand-ducal thrones of
Mecklenburg-Schwerin and
Mecklenburg-Strelitz. As yet there is no indication that he has publicly acknowledged or claimed any Mecklenburg rights or titles. Because he is a descendant of the
United Kingdom's
Victoria of the United Kingdom Queen Victoria, Georg Friedrich is 150th in the
Line of succession to the British Throne. He is also related to all of the current monarchs in Europe.
