Image:Communist_Party_Logos_STWC_Demonstration.jpgright|The CPB's two official symbols in useThe '''hammer and dove''' is the symbol of the Communist Party of Britain (CPB). Its design is obviously similar to that of the hammer and sickle, the symbol used originally by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and latterly by most communist movements in the world.
The hammer and dove is intended to highlight the party's connection to the peace movement. It is usually used in conjunction with the hammer and sickle, and appears on all of the CPB's publications. Some members of the CPB prefer one symbol over the other, although the most recent congress reaffirmed the hammer and dove's position as the official emblem of the Party. Both symbols have been registered with the Electoral Commission.
The hammer and dove symbol was designed by Mikhal Boncza in 1988.
