'''Lisa Potts''' is a former nursery_school nursery teacher who was injured in 1996 while protecting children in her St Luke's Primary School class in Wolverhampton, West Midlands (county) West Midlands from a machete attack by a paranoid schizophrenic. Her arm was almost severed in the attack and four children were injured. She was awarded the George Medal and her attacker, Horrett Campbell, was subsequently jailed for life. She suffered severe scarring, clinical_depression depression and post-traumatic stress disorder and was awarded Pound_sterling £49,000 damages compensation more than four years after the attack. The level of compensation was widely criticised as inadequate, especially compared to high libel payouts around the same time.
