The '''Mersey Estuary''' is a large estuary where the River Mersey flows into Liverpool Bay, England. The estuary starts somewhere between Warrington Dock and Runcorn Gap as a river channel and swells to be several miles in width before being constricted again between Birkenhead and Liverpool. The estuary contains large wetlands of importance to wildlife, as well as being a hard working river.
