'''Michael A. Jackson''' is a satellite project manager who ran as a
United States Republican Party Republican in the
2003 California recall, primarily getting votes due to sharing his name with that of
pop music pop singer Michael Jackson. Jackson garnered 746 votes, placing him
results of the 2003 California recall 91st out of 135 candidates.
Four months later, during the
March 2004 Republican Primary for the
California State Senate to represent the 27th District (representing mostly
Long Beach, California Long Beach and southeast
Los Angeles County) Jackson came in second with only 47% of the vote. For 2006, he is running in the Republican primary to challenge incumbent
Bette Karnette to represent the 54th district in the
California State Assembly.
Jackson was born in
El Paso, Texas, and moved to
California with his family when he was young. He joined the
United States Navy and served for ten years. After leaving the Navy, went to college. He graduated from
Citrus College in
1994 with an Associate of Science degree in
natural science. He then went to
University of California, Los Angeles UCLA, graduating in
1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in
electrical engineering.
