'''Namli Maira''' is a collection of small
hamlet (place) hamlets, the largest being Namli and Maira respectively, nestled on
mountain ridges about 20 kilometers from the city of
Abbottabad,
Pakistan. A mettled road connects Namli Maira to the main Abbottabad-Nathiagali road near
Azizabad (Hernoi) and is an alternate route to reach
Nathiagali from Abbottabad.
Namli Maira is surrounded by tall mountains. There was a time when much of the area's mountainous slopes were covered with
coniferous forests teeming with wildlife. Excessive
logging to accommodate farmland and fruit orchards has denuded the hills of the forest cover. Presently, remenants of forests can be seen near the mountain peaks and places still beyond the reach of humans.
