Nanjing Foreign Language School
*** Shopping-Tip: Nanjing Foreign Language School
{{cleanup-date|March 2006}}
'''Nanjing Foreign Language School''' (å?—京外国è¯å¦æ ¡ï¼Œnickname Nan-Wai å?—外)is one of the several foreign languege high schools in People's Republic of China. PRC's first premier and prime minister Zhou Enlai founded it in Nanjing (å?—京), Jiangsu Province (江è‹?çœ?), P.R.China.
Nanjing Foreign Language School consists of a three-year junior high school and a three-year high school. Elementary graduates of Nanjing apply to its junior high school by participating a series of examinations. The form of the examinations is usually in a flux due to different reasons. The focus of the examinations, however, is always students' Chinese, English, and Mathematical skills.
After three years of study, students usually take part in the Entrance Examination to High Schools of Nanjing (å?—京市ä¸è€ƒ) and a special Nanjing Foreign Language School Qualification Test. Qualified junior high school graduates will continue their high school studies in NFLS.
Nanjing Foreign Language School employs the standard education system of Jiansu Province in disciplines other than foreign languages. Its uniqueness centers at the foreign language education, in which it teaches English, German, French, and Japanese. The latter three languages are usually not offered in average Chinese junior high schools or high schools. In addition, its English education requires twice the time an average school would spend on students and it uses foreign textbooks. Students at NFLS therefore attain more solid foreign language abilities.
Its present (
As of 2006 2006) president is Mr. Dong Zhengjing.
