Paul Rauch
*** Shopping-Tip: Paul Rauch
'''Paul Rauch''' is a producer of
United States American soap operas, most known for his work on ''
Another World (TV series) Another World'', which he produced from
1972 to
1984. While still producing ''Another World'', he also helped create an ''AW'' spinoff, ''
Texas (soap opera) Texas'', which lasted from
1980 to
1982.
Following his stint on ''Another World'', he produced ''
One Life to Live'' from
1984 to
1991, ''
Santa Barbara (TV series) Santa Barbara'' from
1991 to
1993, and ''
Guiding Light'' from
1996 to
2002. Most recently, he was consulting producer to a period-drama aired on
Russian television, called ''
Bednaya Nastya''.
He has become a controversial figure among some soap fans. His plans for the shows he produced have often led to hotly debated discussion. They included expanding ''Another World'' to 60 minutes, which doubled the ratings, then to 90 minutes, which was, ultimately, less successful, and using
science fiction sci-fi plots such as cloning and time-travel on ''One Life to Live'' and ''Guiding Light''.
