Porter County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 4,972.
Geography
Porter is located at 41°37'34" North, 87°4'18" West (41.626005, -87.071798){{GR|1}}.
According to the
United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 17.1
square kilometer km² (6.6
square mile mi²). 16.3 km² (6.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.54% water.
