'''Shimoge''' (下毛郡; -gun) was a districts of Japan district located in Oita Prefecture Oita, Japan. On March 1 2005, the district was abolished when the four towns that comprised it were absorbed by Nakatsu, Oita Nakatsu City. In 2003, the district had an estimated population of 17,827 and the population density density of 40.98 persons per square kilometer km². The total area is 435.03 km².
