Slann (Warhammer 40,000)
*** Shopping-Tip: Slann (Warhammer 40,000)
In the fictional
universe of
Warhammer 40,000, the '''Slann''' were a reptillian or amphibian species who were servants of the
Old Ones (Warhammer 40,000) Old Ones though current background fiction states that they in fact are the Old Ones, not unlike the
Lizardmen (Warhammer) Lizardmen of
Warhammer Fantasy. The Slann are reputed to have created some of the major races in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the most notable of which are the
Ork (Warhammer 40,000) Orks (who refer to them as the Brainboyz) and
Eldar (Warhammer 40,000) Eldar (who are the only race that keeps records from the age) who were created with their psychic abilities to take part in the war between the
Necrontyr and the Slann sixty million years ago in which they were all but wiped out by the
C'tan and the
Enslavers (Warhammer 40,000) Enslavers plague. The Mon-Keigh (Human) race was a race that basic evolution was allowed to mould without the guidance of the Old Ones.
More recent references have been made to a reptilian species known as the Loxatl. It is unclear at this time whether these are the same Warhammer 40,000 species or not. However, the 4th edition 40K core book clearly shows a Slann like race labeled as Loxatl amongst it's full colour species pages.
