Parsons, Kansas. T. Claude Ryan was best known for founding, in
1922, the
Ryan Flying Company. The Ryan Flying Company started the first all-year airplane passenger service in the United States in
1925, running from
San Diego, California to
Los Angeles, California. The company's first aircraft, M-1
Mailplane developed in
1926, was the first production monoplane in the country, and provided the design basis for
Charles Lindbergh's
Spirit of St. Louis.
