The name "THQ" formerly stood for "Toy Headquarters", dating from when the company was also a toy manufacturer. However, THQ has produced only video games since
1994.
In addition to intellectual properties such as ''

Juiced Juiced'', THQ is also the publisher of video games based on assets from
Nickelodeon (TV channel) Nickelodeon,
Pixar Pixar, and the
World Wrestling Entertainment WWE. It also published several

THQ owns a number of studios which it operates with a good degree of independence.
