Notting Hill Gate,
London (W11 1JH).

'''Sharon Gitau''' is a singer who often suffers ridicule from her housemates for her talkativeness and sensitivity. When the housemates go to
Kenya for their group vacation, Sharon was offended when a tribe slaughtered a goat, and chose to fast the next day in memory of the animal. She was again ridiculed by some of the cast for this. She tearfully admits during this vacation that she has problems when it comes to love and letting men in her life, an admission that humbles her housemates. When she later gets very ill with
tonsillitis, the cast rallies around her and comforts her. Mike even visits her in the hospital, despite his aversion to hospitals.
'''Neil Forrester''' is a student and lead singer in a punk band. In the first episode, Mike perceives a flirtatious relationship between Neil and Kat, but nothing comes of it. Neil receives, as a
Valentine's Day gift from his girlfriend, a pig's heart with nails in it. The most memorable moment of the season comes when Neil kisses a male fan during a musical performance, and the fan responds by biting off the front half of Neil's tongue. The portion of the severed tongue was stitched back on, and Neil endured a portion of the season by communicating with producers during his "confessionals" using a computer with a
speech synthesis voice synthesizer that could speak his typed words.
'''Mike Johnson''' is an aspiring
race car driver who received some disdain from Neil for being the epitome of all things American in the way he dressed and behaved. He is disappointed when he cannot find ranch dressing at supermarkets in London.
'''Lars Schlichting''' is from
Germany, and works as an underground DJ at night. After ''The Real World: London'' aired, as a testament of his appeal to females, he received a thunderous reception from audience females when he was introduced on a reunion show for the first four seasons of ''The Real World''. He becomes upset in one episode when his bike is stolen from the flat's vestibule, which he believes is a result of carelessness on the part of his flatmates.
'''Jay Frank''' is an aspiring
playwright and actor from
Portland, Oregon. In one episode, he puts on a performance of his one-man show for a small audience in the house. He appeared as "Auditioner 9" in the 1995

fencing fencer. Although Mike perceived romantic feelings between her and Neil, Kat denied any relationship with Neil, and was offended at Mike speaking about her and Neil outside of her presence. Nothing came of the alleged attraction with Neil, who had a girlfriend at the time.
